I’ve been off the protocol for some time now, and while I’m maintaining at about 8 lbs over my last hCG ending weight, I’m finding that some foods give me issues, others make me feel ‘not right’ and sometimes I just don’t want to eat at all. I get busy and don’t take time to eat right. So I’m not getting the right amount of vitamins and minerals to keep me rolling. I admit it, I’m a workaholic, and let the work take over my need to eat right!
I’ve got a lot going on in my life, and I’ve been trying to find some ways to simplify my diet and still stay healthy and energized. Smoothies were one way I used to get ‘fast’ food, but so many of the protein powder products out there are full of chemicals, have too much sugar or aren’t balanced for general healthy living with vitamins, minerals, aminos and nutrients.
NOTE: I’m in Phase 4, this is *not* for Phase 2 eating as it isn’t on the Phase 2 food list and has a bit of natural sugar. You can *cautiously* use the IsaLean Pro shakes on Phase 3, as they have no sugar or starch.
And if that isn’t bad enough, most of them are *nasty*! I used Jay Robb for a while, and liked it, but wasn’t getting the results I wanted from it. It was just a protein powder, without any support or feedback on how to best use it. What I’d like to do is clean up my body, lose a bit more weight, and finish changing my eating habits. I still slip back into poor eating habits from time to time, and it always makes me feel bloated and heavy.
I have a friend who was using a different product, from Isagenix. She chatted me up one day, and told me how much she liked it, and how it was making her feel so much more nourished. She was seeing some weight loss, felt like she was getting a cleaner experience, and was really sold on the product. What really caught my attention though, was her mom. Her mother had had a heart attack, and was overweight, on BP meds, and having a host of other health problems. Now, granted, she is older, but hey, older people can be healthy, right?
So my friend, who loves her mom, talked her into trying this 30-day program that Isagenix has for losing weight and cleansing.
I’m not usually one to jump on something right away, so I asked her where I could try it. She sent me some packets of the protein drink in vanilla and chocolate, and some of their meal bars too. I spread them around to my family, and we checked them out.
They were pretty good!! The shake is easy, and I loved the vanilla with some fruit in it (and a bit more vanilla, I’m a vanilla extremist, LOL), and it filled me up, kept me from being hungry for hours, and I didn’t see any digestive issues. I checked out the ingredients, and found out it is chock full of vitamins, minerals, and is all organic. I use the IsaLean Pro, which is their athlete version that is sugar free (stevia sweetened). They also have a regular version that is sweetened with organic can sugar (but not much). And you can mix them together if you prefer some, but not all the sugar.
So I signed up and am now using the products, and have an Isagenix distributor ID, which gets me a discount. I use the shakes for breakfast every day, and am now losing weight in Phase 4. Not super quick, but steady, and that is fine with me. I bought some for my mom, and she’s lost 5 lbs so far (pretty good for my chocoholic mom) and is feeling better. My daughter and husband both love the protein bars, and eat them instead of junk, so I’m pretty happy about that. And a couple friends have signed up and are losing weight as well!
So all in all, I like Isagenix, and love that I can help my friends with it. And when they purchase their stuff, after enough accumulates, I get a check! So I get to save even more on my own stuff. It’s a nice setup, with a great product.
